I am still waiting for the Mac version before I use my free trial, however if you use both Windows and Mac, they say you can use the same account for BOTH versions. I am personally wrestling a bit with the cost of the Director version (that I would want) however I'd love to hear what the rest of you think after checking it out. We certainly can do most all of this in CC applications, but this appears to be a potentially simpler to use application designed specifically to be a slideshow content creation tool.
